Want To Increase Your Entrepreneurial IQ? You’ve Come to the Right Place.

“You’re giving away too much.”

I had just finished telling a good friend and fellow business owner my plan for launching a site for small business owners. She loved the idea, but was apalled at the notion of my providing so much useful information without charging anything for it.

“You shouldn’t give all that away. People would pay for that kind of information. If you don’t charge, they’ll just suck you dry.”

“Maybe she’s right,” I started thinking. “Maybe it’s stupid to put so much out there for nothing at all.”

A few days later, I spoke with another friend who I’ve worked on several projects with. We were talking about a completely unrelated topic, when he shared one of his personal philosophies with me:

“There’s a difference between knowledge and knowing. Knowledge can be attained through reading and study. But knowing has real value. And knowing comes only from doing.”

When I created Sage Small Business Solutions, I wanted it to be a departure from many of the small business resources out there that offer a wealth of knowledge, but give very little in the way of knowing through practice. This site was created as a resource for both the knowledge and knowing aspects of owning and running a sustainable small business.

The knowledge provided here in the form of articles, links, courses, and recommended readings is absolutely free of charge.

Resources for expanding knowing include: DIY training manuals, consulting services, and one-on-one coaching. These resources come at a price, but are more than reasonable for the value provided.

I’m aware that there are many people out there who will read all of the lessons and will – for whatever reason – choose not to do anything with the knowledge provided or decide not to put these tactics to work in their business. That’s ok.

Knowledge is widely available to the masses. Knowing – by doing – is a path reserved only for a relative few.

If you’re a business owner that’s ready to go beyond just having knowledge, this is the place for you. SIGN UP to receive all the latest information posted on this site in your email inbox, absolutely free. You won’t get spammed and I’ll never share your information with third parties. You can also subscribe via RSS.
